This week we have been learning how to make manipulate sentences.

Mr Wiseman, a teacher at  Pt england school in room 1, has just had a new baby.  The little baby was a girl and her name was Ailah she was born last week on thursday. I would like to congratulate him for having I think his first baby.

On thursday the 30th of april 2015. In glenn Innes at pt england school Mr Goodwin the teacher of room 6 made a control just using new technology which was a Makey makey kit. inside the makey makey box was a control,wires, and cables.



This week room 6 litracy has been making a new tetris control out of this devise.

WALT: Use diffrent types of sentences to improve writting

Have you ever had a Immersion assembly? Instead of getting the principals awards sticker we got  baked cookies, Sandwiches, and some other things with biscuits and marshmallow. If you were there or you were one of the students, teachers, or an adult who sits on the side you would’ve  gotten one.

Once  the second bell rang for school we all had to line up in our home classes. When we went to the school hall I saw some teachers like Mr Burt, Mr Jacobson, Mrs Nua and some of the prefects baking and cooking. They were making cream piculets and this kinda wierd thing that has two biscuits and some marshmallows but the order was biscuit, marshmallow and then one more biscuit on the top. But the year 1s gave us some carrots, celery with some dips.

When Mr Burt gave the microphone to Ana then we had to say the karakia. Once it had finished Every teams had to do there team Items, so it was time for team one. There item was all about healthy food, healthy playground and that we will not go to the dental clinic anymore. I think that I understand in the team ones slides is to keep healthy, have healthy food, and that our teeth will not come off and going to the dental clinic.

Now it is time for team twos item, I think that there item was all about building Eeyore a new kinda stick house. Miss Berry was Eeyore, Ms Eddie was Tigger, Mrs Nalder was the piglet, Mrs Rapoled was Winnie the pooh and then Mr barks was christopher robin.

If I was judging there video and if it was out of ten I would have gave them five the reason why I would have gave them five out of ten because they never played but only a little bit but it was mostly played on video slid. But I kind of liked it because they were wearing onesies while they were doing the play.

Mr Barks came to talk about his minion hovercraft and he chose Mr Sommerville because Mr Sommerville had a batman cave on. When Mr Barks chose Mr Sommerville he told him to sit on the hovercraft while Mr Barks was telling Mr Sommerville to sit on the hovercraft Mr Barks had a leaf blower and on that hovercraft there was kind of a medium circle. Mr Barks put the leaf blower inside that medium hole then he on it, Mr Sommerville started to kind of fly just a little bit. But it was kind of cool. I felt so exciting of seeing teachers act in a play I hope you enjoyed my writing.

This week  we had a diffrent assemberly beacuse we were celebrating it for the remeberence for anzac.And for the pepole who sacorfied for us.

WALT: Understand the meaning of anzac.


Today instead of a normall assemberly it was a diffrent one. Did you know that on 16 october 1914, the largest group of men ever to leave New Zealand departed for thr first Worldwar? One of teh men, Uncle, son or brother died and his mum or stuff didn't know what happend to him cause there was one men that was hurt bad and he was dirty and stuff and no one new his name. They buried him and for his name they said knowen antill god cause only god knows the person well.

This week the bunjy jumpers has been learning about the water cycle. Na d the parts of the water cycle. How to waste water how to waste water is if you put your washing mashine on or every drop of a tap water it still will waste the water.did you that people from somewhere else if they have thirty water then they will be still able to use it by warming it up but it would take for agers to get cold and some of the peoples will start moaning if it will take for agers the wil say" caan you boill it fast pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

About three weeks ago the year 5s and 6 s went camping on their school fields and this was the 25th aniversary of the year 5s and 6s camp at pt england school.

Year 5/6 camp

WALT: Make connections across a wide range of text.

I have visited Jordennes blog because it had like mostly good ideas. One of her sentence has a quistion and  the quistion was, Did you know that pt england school is one of the schools in Auckland that does thier camp in thier school grounds.
Tommorow I am so excited to go to the camp beacuse  I haven't been to camp in my hole life so tommorow I can see and feel what camp sees like nd see what it feels like.

For this weeks task we had to use google search to find a year 5 and 6 camp to see what they liked.

The newspaper challenge

1. WALT: write a detailed introduction with hook and orientation.

1 Have you ever or tried to make a tower out of newspaper? Well in my literacy class we sat on the mat, Mr Goodwin told us to put our netbooks away then come back on the mat. Mr Goodwin started talking about making a very tall newspaper tower  but we are not allowed to hold it or lean it on the wall.

Once we sat on the mat everyone was thinking what happened to the table and we were thinking why did he move the table. The reason why Mr Goodwin moved the table is because he moved it so we can have space to make our towers because if we didn’t have any space for it then we would have nowhere to make it.

Me, Sulieti, Rima, Loseli, Inez, And Vinolia were in the same  group. As the look of the building the tower looks easy to build but if you try to build a tower it  will be so hard and it will be hard to think in 8 minutes. Inside my group it was difficult to build the tower we keep on taking it off and putting it on.

It was time for judging. In judging it was very hard because there was only two teams who only made it in and three didn’t make it into the challenge. When Mr Goodwin measured it with his legs it was a tigh but when he measured it with a long ruler it wasn’t a tight one was short and one was tall.

The winners of this group was the team that had the one that looks small and it’s skinny but it was fat. In my group I think that our team could be winning next time and to work hard.

Have you tasted chicken flavoured worms before? Well in room 6s literacy room we didn’t start our day like we often do, instead we ate chicken flavoured worms. Then Mr Goodwin got crazy feeding us.
