A platypus is one of Australia's animals which is also known as the duck-billed platypus, is a semiaquatic egg-laying mammal endemic to eastern Australia, including Tasmania.
The Australian pound, introduced in 1910 and officially distinct in value from the pound sterling since devaluation in 1931, was replaced by the dollar on 14 February 1966. The rate of conversion for the new decimal currency was two dollars per Australian pound, or ten Australian shillings per dollar. Australia has a lot of facts about their sports example the most popular game played in australia -
Aussie rules:The Australian Football League (AFL) is the highest-level professional competition in the sport of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body, and is responsible for controlling the Laws of the Game.

Adjacent to the Melbourne Cricket .The Victorian Football League was established in 1896 and the following year the League's first games were played among the foundation clubs – Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Fitzroy, Geelong, Melbourne, St Kilda and South Melbourne. Australia - Summer Learning Journey
The reason I would want to visit this country is because I want to see all my family that I have never seen before. I also want to see snakes if there is any. I want to try and join in one of the kids Australian football aussie kick team. How big the emu's are and what they do, My favourite colour is green and gold but I have never seen a better green and gold before. And I want to find out the 6 different contents of Australia.
This is why I really want to go. One of the other things is that I have never been there so yeah. My family is planning to go to australia next year for a holiday to meet the rest of my family.

My checklist is out of ten so I hope I get all of these things I need to work on:
1. Title/Orientation
2. Problem
3. Solution
4. Sounds like
5. Smells like
6. Felt like
7. Looked like
8. Tasted like
9. Editing - Punctuation/ Makes sense
10. Paragraphs
So here are the 10 things I need to work on please comment down below and write what I need to work on thankyou.

My Rust task
WALT: Synthesise information from multiple sources.
Here are three ingredients we would need.
Iron
|
Water
|
Oxygen from the air
|
brief paragraph explaining the rusting process (why rusting occurs)
You would need Iron, water and also oxygen from the air. It starts with the oxygen from the air which mixes with water, Secondly, The iron surface of the nail reacts with the oxygen mixed in the water. It forms iron oxide. When the iron oxide reacts with water. It forms hydrated iron oxide the red stuff we would name “ RUST”. This process continues until all the iron is eaten up.
“ Other metals damages in different types of ways, but the only type of material that can rust is metal with iron in them.”
|
How could you prevent something from rusting?
Whenever you put iron, water, and oxygen in a test tube together you would recognise that when they all mix up together it’s colour would be brownish which is called “rust”. So the best way to prevent it is to keep the three ingredients separate from each other (That’s what paint does, or the spray-on wax and oil coatings that the car protection companies sell.) Always keep your tools dried, wipe down your bike after a ride, and keep water away so they can’t rust.
|
Something new I have learnt from this reading.
One of the things that I have learnt from this reading is how metal rust and why.
The second thing that I was interested from this reading is some of advice of how you could stop something from rusting.
And I have learnt a knew word that I didn't know the meaning of. Alloy, it means that when a metal is with another element it makes the metal stronger or more resistance to corrosion.

My reflection on this term ( Term 3 )
WALT: write something on a flash back of what we liked during this term.
Term 3 has been an overwhelming term. There has been a lot of thing that pt england has been through. In team 5 we have had movie trips, visit harold, American dance group danced for us, AL7 & barista team ( Cooking, baking, making hot chocolates and other hot drinks and working with board games group. ) and many other things. This term I have participated in a quiet few things like … .. Netball, our team was called the year 7 Jets, Youthtown with tech and Film festival filmings.
Moments I liked:
Here are some moments I enjoyed through this term. I liked being in a netball team with wonderful friends and wonderful managers and coaches. I liked making a lot of new friends at school and making the new students comfortable with this school. I really enjoy after lunch and sometimes in the morning block and after morning tea blocks because we have maths and maths is my favourite subject in my life, sometimes I enjoy reading and writing. The things I didn’t like was sometimes running for fitness and jump jam, but now I am starting to like Just dance.

Anonymous Presentation - Training for the olympics
Walt: Introduction to the human body - 'My body parts and systems'
During our Inquiry lesson this week and half of last week, we have been doing some presentations about the olympics. How it worked was that we were split into four groups, in those four groups we had to choose a sport that relates to the olympics. After deciding a sport your whole group has to agree on what kind of sport you are doing. Then you would need a group name, that group name your whole team had to agree to the group name. Once everything is sorted you and your whole group had to work on different slides, on those slides you add information onto it about your sport.

The case of the Broken window and the forbidden fruit
WALT: compare and contrast two stories.
This weeks reading task was about solving a crime. We are trying to learn about comparing two of the same story's together, what we did was very exciting. There is a Venn diagram on the 2 to last slide. The Venn diagram is all about the two same story's and what's the similarity of both of the story's and what happens in both of the stories. This task asked me to read the text careful and try and find the evidence from the text. My favourite thing about these books is how we have to solve out the crime.

The case of the Phantom tagger
WALT: look at the relationship between the characters
Kia ora this weeks task has asked me to find the answer and the evidence of the text, the characters and the meaning. In this presentation that I have worked on was given to my whole reading class by my teacher Mrs Berry. Inside this presentation is some work that I have been working on but before I worked onto these slides I read a book to help me find the answers to some of the questions.
The three last slides are my favourite thing, on the fourth to last slide, where it says extension click on that word and it will take you to some crime solving texts. I have solved these three questions. I hope you enjoy. Please leave a comment:)

Why do our muscles get tired.
WALT: identify the detail that supports the main idea in the text
On the top of this description is a voice recorder, recording myself and explaining what a muscle fatigue is. A muscle fatigue is when you are using the same muscle over and over again it gets tired. Muscle fatigue is when your muscles get really tired. These kind of muscles needs oxygen to work, energy comes from sort of foods that we eat. We also breath oxygen as part of the air, and our bodies carries it from our lungs to the rest of our body. Exercising too much makes our body sends extra oxygen to our muscles. I hope you have learnt about what a muscle fatigue is. Please leave a comment and visit my other post.

Addition problems with tenths.
Solve addition problems with tenths by changing one number into a whole number.
This week we are learning about our decimals. This task is all about maths which has to do with decimals and tenths. We are doing this task with Miss Berry. This task asked me to solve out the answer and show how I did it. In this presentation on the top of this description is some answers to the questions that I have been given and the showing out how I got it.
One of the questions would be 12.2 + 14.5 = ( So this is one of the questions that have been given). This what you would do, first you add the numbers that is before the decimal point (.) 12 + 14 = 26, then you add the number that is after the decimal point(.) 0.2 + 0.5 = 0.7, then you add both of the numbers that have been made, 26 + 0.7 = 26.7. I hope you get what I am trying to explain, please if you want to find out more maths then leave a comment below thankyou.

Journey Brainstorm
WALT: Make inferences from information provided in a text.
This weeks reading activity is called the "Journey". The Journey is a Non-fiction story. This Non-fiction story is a really sad story about these Polynesian peoples. Warriors from other countries has came to the Polynesian and have destroyed their country. A man named Iwirori has helped his extended family to escape their country without any warriors noticing them leaving, if the warriors had seen them then they would have kill them. I hope you read more of my blog post to find out more about this Journey story.
Attitude: Who am I?
WALT: finish of our task and understand the meaning of our text so we can write a recount.
WHO AM I ?
This term we had special things, One of them was from the Attitude team, his name is Nate Kandraculah. What he was talking about was “Who am I?”, What he was basically talking about was that we had to find who we really are. There were animals that were like us, for example a Otter, an otter is standing for they do crazy stuff and fun at the same time, the lion was the leader of everything, the beaver was the hard working person who would never give up anything and could help their family to get some food and stuff, and golden retriever is a kind of dog that is very very kind, if you are this golden retriever then you would help nearly every one for example if there was this beaver walking down the road and there was a bump between the road, but the beaver never saw it, it was running so fast then it tripped up, the golden retriever would come up to you and would help you out or rather take you to the doctors. If I would have to find out who am I? Think I am the otter and a bit of Golden retriever.

And her favorite teacher was his mum know, Reggie found out that he has a brother and a sister from his real mum, the saddest thing was that his mum kept his sister, then she kept his brother, and sadly gave him away, When he told us that story we all started feeling very sad.

And her favorite teacher was his mum know, Reggie found out that he has a brother and a sister from his real mum, the saddest thing was that his mum kept his sister, then she kept his brother, and sadly gave him away, When he told us that story we all started feeling very sad.

Making kindness go viral
WALT: Reflect and respond on key features and point of a performance or assembly presentation
On Friday the 6th of May during 2016 we had a assembly. During that school assembly their was something very important and very special. The reason why it was so important and special is because their was a new boy at our school and he earned this special thing which is called the prefect badge. Being a prefect is so good you could show kindness with this badge just like what his family did, They all came to school to support him for his effort that he had made and then they also gave them stuff just like giving him some lollies, some moneys, big hugs and also big kisses on his checks. I hope you have enjoyed all of this and also the planning on the top of this description.

Year 7 Fun week
WALT: Write a full recount.
We all packed up our classroom. We were so happy to see the year 8s again so we decorated up the classrooms. To give them a big welcome back.
Last term, the year 8s went onto their leadership camp for three days, and the year 7’s had a fun three days. On the first day the year 7’s watched a movie called “ From Boyz 2 Men”. While we all were watching the movie we got treated with some popcorn. The movie had finished, Mrs Muliaumasealii divided us into three groups. The first group was called the art group which was with Matua Willis, the second group was making a flower leis and the last group was making flower leis as well.
I got divided into one of the flower lei groups. What we needed was some flowers (Any type of flowers), A pin to stick the flower in and a net for your flower to stick on. We all helped each other by getting it done. It took us 2 days just to get the flowers done. The art group was already finished it looked very interesting.
On the last day Mrs Clark's cooking group went out to the hall kitchen to bake some, Mince, pasta and cheese bake. We all finished of our project and hung them up. Mrs Clark’s group set up the long big tables and put our plate of food and drinks on with some pears. Everything was finished so we all had to pack up everything, we flipped the table on to another.
We all packed up our classroom. We were so happy to see the year 8s again so we decorated up the classrooms. To give them a big welcome back.
Immersion Assemberly
WALT: Write a recount.
Yesterday was the beginning of the second term. At 8:50 the whole school made their way to the school hall for our immersion assembly. The reason everyone was on the way to the hall because there was a special event happening, the event was more like a big welcome back to us students and teachers. We watched different kind of items from other teachers. There were five performance. The assembly was about our topics for this term. The teachers were dressing up according to their topics. I loved the way they dressed up, beacuse it made me to understand each of their topics.
One of the teams that I have enjoyed was the team 5s play. Team 5 is going to be doing some arts around our waka. Their play today was very interesting. Characters were Te Aurere, Hikianalia, Hine moana, also Hokulea. Mrs Berry played as Te Aurere, Mrs Tela played as Hine moana, Mrs Sadler played for Hikianalia, and last but not least the winner Mrs Garden playing for Hokulea, Mrs Clark was the speaker for the act. In the play was four wakas that were having a race, so they all started to line up. When Mrs Clark said “GO”. Vakas paddled as fast as they could. “ Te Aurere and hikianalia were coming last” ohhh there goes Hine moana and Hokulea in the lead, yes at first is the winner HOKULEA!!!. We all cheered. “ THE WINNER IS HOKULEA”!!
I felt very excited before the play. Every actor was wearing the colour of their waka. Mrs Berry was wearing a red Lava Lava and holding a paddle, Mrs Sadler was wearing a yellow t -shirt and a yellow lava lava, Mrs Tela was wearing a blue t - shirt with a bottom blue samoa skirt and a box that was her waka, it looked so beautiful with her fan and her paint on her face. Mrs Garden was wearing everything green her hair green, her t - shirt, her pants and she brought a santa sack bag. Team 5 act out our learning for this term.
Out of all the teachers Mrs Telea was the most statuesque one out of all. Once team 5 teachers finished their item we all gave them a applause. Mrs Telea one of the teachers from team 5(which was so stunning)told the whole school that we are going to learn and do some art things about the four wakas.

So we decided to go to the beach that had nice and cold water. We sweated like rain drops dripping down our face. While we were in the nice and cool water we didn’t Bother to get out. Every sunny day we would go to the beach where the water is.
